SING OUT! Youth Music Festival
A COAST-TO-COAST EFFORT USING MUSIC TO FIGHT LUNG CANCER!
Time: 2:00 — 4:00 pm
Place: Brookline High School Auditorium, 115 Greenough Street, Brookline, MA
Talented young musicians will use their breath and voices to deliver a message that ANYONE CAN GET LUNG CANCER, regardless of age. The program includes three a cappella groups: Testostertones, Note-a-fy and Perfect Pitch; The Unity Gospel Choir of Northeastern University, Sociedad Latina Youth Leaders of Boston, and other surprise artists. The healing power of music combined with the power of young people’s voices will illuminate the need to take action to detect lung cancer early, support new treatments, and turn lung cancer into a controllable chronic disease.
This is a wonderful show for adults, families, children and seniors. The Emcee for the event is popular WBZ radio personality, Jordan Rich. In addition, Deborah Morosini, MD, Hildy Grossman and Jim Swaim join Wendy Covell and special guests to make this a memorable afternoon for a great cause.
Massachusetts-based Upstage Lung Cancer joins hands across the US with California-based Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) to raise awareness and funds for research. Funds raised by this concert will benefit the Genomics of Young Lung Study, an international study of young lung cancer patients ages 18-39, a group never before studied.
This is an afternoon of great fun and also an opportunity to learn about lung cancer and how you can help.
